The Caleb Pike Heritage Park is located 25 minutes from downtown Victoria in a beautiful rural setting. There are two heritage-designated buildings that can be rented separately or together:

The Little Red Schoolhouse was originally built in 1893 on a nearby Highlands property, and it was moved and reconstructed on the Caleb Pike Heritage Park property. It is 714 square feet, and offers elegant, timeless charm in a natural setting.

The Caleb Pike House is a restored squared log pioneer home that was built in 1883. It offers a more rustic space of approximately 600 square feet and has wood stove heating.

The Schoolhouse - a great place for a wedding.

Both spaces offer a meeting capacity of approximately 50. If both buildings are rented together and a canopy tent is used in the grounds, a maximum of 150 people can be accommodated for outdoor events such as weddings.

It should be noted that washrooms are in a separate building in the orchard, and a separate small kitchen is available for use in the heritage designated old dairy building. It has a stove, a fridge and a microwave. It is requested that renters either hire caterers or take full responsibility for bringing and cleaning their own dishes and cutlery. All garbage must be removed by renters. No smoking on the grounds under any circumstances. Coffeemakers and plastic tablecloths are available.

RENTAL PRICING:

All rentals are at the discretion of the Highlands Heritage Park Society. Rates are subject to change. Please contact us to book or make enquiries.

Weddings:

Wedding rentals have use of the Little Red Schoolhouse, the Caleb Pike House and the grounds. Maximum 150 people (rental of additional chairs would be necessary) for outdoor weddings.

  • Full rate from noon Friday to noon Sunday: $550
  • 4 hour rate (including set-up and clean-up): $250
  • Please enquire for rates on other rental times.

Little Red Schoolhouse

Tent canopy:

  • 10’ by 20’rental (including set-up and take down) $75.
  • Note that larger tents can be rented elsewhere.

Meetings/Courses/Seminars/Retreats:

Rental prices include set up of table and chairs, and lighting of the wood-stove in the Caleb Pike House. Renters need to bring any items such as flip charts or slide-projectors. A high speed ADSL internet connection is available in the Schoolhouse. Maximum 50 people each building.

Both Buildings:

Reduced rates are available for non-profit groups, youth groups, and community rates are available for private rentals by Highland’s residents. Please contact us.
